Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we're asked most about roof, gutter, patio, driveway and render cleaning.
General
What areas do you cover?
Based in Diss, we cover homes across Norfolk and Suffolk, including Norwich, Wymondham, Dereham, Thetford, Harleston, Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket, Eye, Bungay, Beccles, Lowestoft and Southwold. If you're just outside that, get in touch — we may still be able to help.
How much will it cost?
Prices depend on the size of the job, the type of surface and how much build-up there is. The quickest way to get a price is to send a few photos on WhatsApp. You'll get a clear, free quote with everything explained before any work is booked.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Usually not, as long as we have safe access to the areas being cleaned and an outside tap where needed. We can send photos of the finished job.
Do you need water and electricity?
Access to an outside tap is helpful for most jobs. We'll let you know exactly what's needed when we quote.
What happens if it rains?
Many jobs, such as gutter clearing, can go ahead in light rain. For some treatments we need a dry window, so we'll keep you updated and rearrange if needed.
Roofs & gutters
Do you pressure wash roofs?
We offer low-pressure roof washing, but never high-pressure blasting. There isn't one way to clean every roof, so we use hand removal, a low-pressure wash or both, then apply a treatment.
Can you replace cracked or slipped tiles?
Small repairs, such as replacing the odd cracked tile, can usually be done at the same visit. We'll always explain what we've found first.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Once a year for most homes, or twice a year if you have trees nearby or a mossy roof.
Can you fix leaking gutters?
Yes — leaking gutters are replaced rather than just resealed, and loose brackets and sagging sections are put right.
How do you clear gutters?
With a high-power gutter vacuum as well as emptying by hand, so nothing is left behind.
Do you repoint patios?
Yes. Cracked or washed-out joints can be raked out and repointed after the patio is cleaned.
Do you reseal driveways?
Yes. After cleaning and re-sanding, driveways can be resealed to lock in the sand and resist weeds and stains.
Patios, driveways & walls
Will pressure washing damage my patio?
Not when it's done properly. The pressure is adjusted to suit the surface, and a rotary surface cleaner gives an even, stripe-free finish.
Can you remove black spot and lichen?
Yes. These need a specialist treatment rather than just pressure, and they continue to fade over the following weeks.
Do you re-sand block paving?
Yes, where needed, using kiln-dried sand to stabilise the blocks and discourage weeds.
How do you clean render?
Render is soft washed — low pressure with specialist cleaning solutions — which kills the algae without damaging the surface.
