What is soft washing?

Soft washing uses low pressure combined with specialist cleaning solutions, rather than relying on high-pressure water. That matters for render: blasting it can damage the surface, strip paint and force water into the wall. A soft wash kills the algae, lichen and bacteria that cause the staining, and they rinse away without harming the finish.

Staining we remove

Green algae is the most common, especially on north-facing walls and near trees. Red and orange staining on modern silicone render is also a type of algae, and black streaking is usually a mix of dirt, mould and run-off. All of these respond well to the right treatment.

Our process

• Plants, windows and doors protected before we start.
• Cleaning solution applied at low pressure and given time to work.
• Walls gently rinsed to remove the loosened growth and dirt.
• Any remaining staining treated and the area left clean and tidy.
