Gutter Cleaning & Repairs

Blocked gutters overflow down your walls, stain your brickwork and can lead to damp inside. We clear them out, check they're draining properly, replace leaking sections and can wash the outside back to bright white.

Signs your gutters need cleaning

  • Water spilling over the edge when it rains
  • Plants or grass growing out of the gutter
  • Green or dark streaks down the walls
  • Dripping joints and damp patches on brickwork
  • Gurgling or slow-draining downpipes
  • Gutters sagging away from the fascia

Leaves, moss from the roof, bird nesting material and silt all end up in your gutters. Once they're full, rainwater has nowhere to go but over the edge — straight down your walls or against your foundations. Left for too long, that can mean damp inside, damaged render and rotten timber.

What's included in a gutter clean

  • Full clear-out of all gutters, using a high-power gutter vacuum as well as emptying by hand, so leaves, moss and silt are all removed and the waste bagged.
  • Downpipes checked and unblocked so water flows all the way to the drain.
  • Flow test to make sure everything drains properly and there are no standing puddles.
  • Repairs and replacement — leaking gutters are replaced rather than just resealed, loose brackets refitted and misaligned sections put back in line. Anything beyond the clean is quoted before any work is done.
  • Optional exterior clean — the outside of the gutters washed back to white, along with your soffits and fascias.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

For most homes, once a year is enough — ideally in late autumn once the leaves have come down. If you're surrounded by trees or your roof has a lot of moss, twice a year is sensible. Read more in our guide: how often should gutters be cleaned?

Frequently asked questions

Do you clean the outside of gutters as well?

Yes. Clearing the inside keeps water flowing; cleaning the outside removes the green and black streaks that build up on white uPVC. Most customers have both done together with their soffits and fascias.

Can you repair leaking gutters?

Yes. Rather than just resealing a leaking joint, we replace leaking gutters so the fix lasts. Loose brackets and sagging sections can be put right too. We'll always explain what's needed and the cost before carrying out any extra work.

How do you clear the gutters?

With a high-power gutter vacuum as well as by hand. The vacuum reaches high and awkward runs from the ground, and hand emptying gets the compacted moss and silt out, so nothing is left behind.

Do I need to be home?

Not usually, as long as we can get safe access around the property. We'll send photos of the finished job if you're out.

Do you clean conservatory gutters?

Yes — conservatory and lean-to gutters, garage and outbuilding gutters are all included when requested.
